Did the right main fold up or break off?

The prop doesn't appear to be chewed up. Looks like a dead-stick forced landing that didn't go quite to plan. He probably could have found a better place to come down but who am I to judge?

You hit the nail. Popped a cylinder a few miles out. Forced it down with old and smoke on the windscreen. Came in hot and ran off the end. Partial gear collapse when he ran through the grass and fence. No injuries.

Good old-fashioned pilotage. Good news, indeed, and it doesn't look like it'll cost too terribly much to get it back in the air. Props, hubs, and shafts are quite expensive on those old birds on top of the engine repair.

I have a soft spot for old warbirds. Above all, I'm glad the pilot walked with no injuries.
